Equipment and RollsContents
Generally, as new patches are released in PvE, you can choose to go for the best crafted armor set or the next best set which is obtained as a drop from dungeons, and there’s also a third best set which is worth using, but not enchanting past +9. You should always be focused on upgrading your weapon first, followed by gloves, then top, and boots last. Always prioritize rerolling gear before going past +9 because you get much more out of gear rolls than enchant levels, and it's cheaper than masterwork or awakened enchanting. - As of the Knockout patch a tanks damage scales much better, so aggro lines on gear are much less important compared to damage.
- For jewelry Cutter necklace, Corvette ring, Corvette earring, Edgetock ring, and Edgetock earring is standard for any DPS or Tank. However, if you've built enough crit factor you can get a good amount of power by replacing the Edgetock ring and earring with Galleon. I currently switch to Galleon when I have a mystic in the party.
- Whatever you do when choosing your combination of jewelry do not lose out on the 3 set effect of 4% attack speed.
- You should compare where you can get the highest amount of stats from each equipment slot. For example, Threatening Niveots versus Pounding Niveots gives 7.65% aggro to 1% damage. This is important for making efficient trades first.
- Attack speed, attack speed, and more attack speed. The more attack speed; the more attacks you can get in between the boss’s attacks which is more aggro draw. Also, attack speed gives you more mobility with all the lancer skills that move you forward, and lets you apply skill threat mods as often as possible.
- Roll numbers are based on masterworked gear rolls.
Etchings are temporary enchants for gear crafted with the etching skill. However, permanent etchings can be crafted on crits. At the very minimum you should always use temporary tier one or two etchings on your top, and weapon because they're very cheap, and help a ton. In the case of offense etchings threatening etchings offer far too low aggro compared to how much attack speed, and cool down reduction you can get from energetic etchings. For armor etchings I would use grounded over relentless as of the Fate of Arun patch because higher base HP, and you get more out of endurance with the higher defense of new gears. |
Hierarchy of Gear for Knockout Set | Type | How to Obtain | 1) Starfall | PvE/PvP | Crafted with mats from end game dungeons | 2) Lucid | PvE | Crafted with mats from end game dungeons | 3) Dreadnaught | PvE/PvP | Dropped in Kalivan's Dreadnaught (Normal) | 4) Schisma | PvE | Dropped in Kalivan's Challenge, and Channelworks. Also awarded from the Raider's Challenge quest series which is given by Dougal. | 5) Idoneal | PvE | Awarded to level 65 players by Dougal. |

There are offense and defense gloves available to use in current gear, and for tanking, the defense ones are much better for holding aggro, though it's worth picking up the offense gloves if you're of equal gear and skill to the DPS you're running with. If you only have enough gold to enchant one pair offense gauntlets are used during endgame tanking much more often. Rolls: - Attack speed increases by X%.

- Restores X% of your HP every 5 seconds.

- Increases balance and chance to resist stun while under boss's feet by X%.
The 16 crit factor innerwear is by far the most useful for holding aggro on a lancer, followed by the 8 power which could be more useful with a mystic if you've built enough crit factor or PvP. The mana regen innerwear can be nice to use to save some gold on mana elixirs, restoratives, and divine infusions if you're not up against too high DPS. If you don't have any innerwear, you can use the uncommon innerwear awarded by the Raider's Challenge quest series from Dougal until you can afford one of the superior innerwears. If you have both mana regen innerwear and offensive innerwear, you can switch to mana regen innerwear while you're dead if you won't have enough time to put an infused charm up after you res. These innerwear are listed in order from best to worst. Name | Defense | Balance | HP | Extra Stat | Practical Cotton Underwear

Brooches offer skills on a 3 or 6 minute cooldown which you can drag onto your action bar. I prefer the Quickcarve brooches for the attack speed paired with the cooldown reduction of adrenaline rush only. If you can't make use of the attack speed due to ping, I'd use an Empowered brooch. All of the brooches listed here have 2 rerollable stats, but there are lower tiered brooches which you can buy from the Vanguard Initiative Merchant with only one rerollable stat. I would not recommend using the grounding brooches as of the Knockout patch. - Simple versions of brooches are dropped in Kelivan's Dreadnaught(Normal Mode), and the alliance vaults which are:
- Simple Empowered Brooch - 2 base power; Active effect: increases power by 25 for 15 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown.
- Simple Quickcarve Brooch - 4 base crit; Active effect: increases crit rate by 30 and attack speed by 7% for 15 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown.
- Simple Threatening Brooch - 6% base aggro; Active effect: increases endurance by 20 for 15 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown.
- Simple Cleansing Brooch - 4 base crit; Active effect: self-cleanse on a 6 minute cooldown.
- Higher tier brooches dropped in Bathysmal Rise Hard Mode and Sky Cruiser Endeavor Normal Mode:
- Cleansing Brooch - 6 base crit; Active effect: self-cleanse on a 3 minute cooldown.
- Three higher tier brooches are made with master armour or weapon crafting:
- Empowered Brooch - 3 base power; Active effect: increases power by 40 for 15 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown.
- Quickcarve Brooch - 6 base crit; Active effect: increases crit rate by 50 and attack speed by 12% for 15 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown.
- Grounding Brooch - 12% base aggro; Active effect: increases endurance by 30 for 15 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown.
- Unobtainable Brooches which were bought with Agnitor reputation credits:
- Purifying Brooch - 6 base crit; Active effect: self-cleanse on a 3 minute cooldown.
